Five years.
Five years.
Five years.
Five years.
FIVE YEARS!
I just keep repeating it. All day the words sneak in my thoughts & my mind is blown away at how quickly time has slipped through my fingers.
It doesn’t seem all that long ago that Hubz & I were living in Washington & so excited to go from a “couple” to a family”.
Enter our “Starlet”, Sophia, born February 7, 2004.
Before we knew it, she was turning into our little delicate one year old & every ounce of a princess.
That summer we moved to Indiana for Hubz to work on his Master’s and oh how did our baby grow that year! We celebrated her second birthday in true princess fashion with a tiara that she saw at the party store & “needed” to have.
And why not a second 2nd birthday party a few weeks later when my family came out to visit?

A few months later the Navy called us to a beachier home of Virginia and oh how our princess was blossoming! The morning of her third birthday I asked her where she wanted to go & her reply was “The MALL! With my tutu!” That’s Mama’s girl!

But not before a good breakfast to start the day, of course.

Flash-forward just one year & my how she’s grown.
And another whoosh of time & we are in 2009. And still in tiaras. Our home was drenched in all shades of pink as we celebrated her fifth birthday with a very apropo Princess Tea Party. Pink feather boas, pink rose petals EVERYwhere, pink ribbons, pink milk for “tea”. Its nice to see the world through rose-shaded glasses for a day. And we can’t go without mentioning the pink heart cake. Which I NEVER thought I’d see my princess eat like this! I never said she’s ALL frills and lace.

Happy Birthday, my sweet princess!
(Take note: you will not be seeing a photo montage of my ability to age over these past 5 years, mkay?)
