While sand in my toes & warm beach breezes always melt my heart, fall & Christmas are definitely my true loves. The flame-bright hues, the chill in the air, all things pumpkin, the coffee (allbeit decaf), the hayrides, the boots. I LOVE it all!!
This weekend was no exception. Friday night we were oh so happy to have our family back together with Hubz after his whirlwind trip all over Europe. (Yes, I’m jealous. Seething.) Saturday morning we headed off to Lowe’s Build & Grow workshop so she could build her own spider…. with Daddy doing most of the hammering. But it was so cool! She got her own work apron, hammer, safety goggles & even a badge for me to sew on her apron for this workshop! (The kiddos get a new badge for each project completed.) She had so much fun & was so excited to “build with Daddy”. Notice her intense stare. I promise she was having fun, but “intense” really should be her middle name. Thanks Michelle for introducing us to this one!
Then later Saturday afternoon we headed off to our favorite grossly over-priced pumpkin farm for some hay-ridin’ & hay-throwing goodness….
And the goats. Can’t forget the goats….
I really must learn NOT to give him camera control. Now…. where were we? Oh yes, the goats…
Then Sunday after church, we got Starlet all dolled up in her costume & headed to the zoo for its annual ZooBoo, where we can never get close enough to any of the animals for good pics, but why deny Mama Starlet a free sugar-high?
Come on now, Starlet… is it really that hard to smile, look AT the camera & NOT be so crazy? Oh yeah, you are only three. How dare I expect so much of you for a good pic for Mama. (And yes, those are rainbow BabyLegs under her costume. How perfect are they??)
So that was our weekend, and there’s more to come with Halloween around the corner! I’ll be working on posting some of my favorite pumpkin recipes soon too (on my food blog), since I’ll be a pumpkin-baking queen.
How was your weekend? What do you do for fall celebration?
