We’ve been having “issues” with Sophia’s attitude lately. To her credit, she is only two years old, and a fresh two, as of February. Everybody tells us how “wonderful it must be to have such a verbal child”. Um… yes, and no…. Prime example of a “no” moment? Yesterday at the Post Office, my dear sweet angel stood between my legs, hugging my thigh, while I shipped some boxes. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the gal in line behind us waving, smiling & mouthing “Hi!” to Sophia. To my horror, from below me I hear my Princess, “Don’t look at me, lady”. AAAUUUGGGHHHH!!!!
She’s been talking just as nasty around the house, too, to which she gets warnings & timeouts & priveleges taken away.
Today was no different for us. Ugly talking to Daddy at dinner… yelling at The Dog… then grabbing my glasses & popping the lense out. My reading glasses are always, without excuse, off limits. So I was pretty upset with her & we had a long “chat”.
So she’s sitting on the couch next to me watching the news, and I hear her talking softly… “Father God, thank you for da won’erful day… wif me growing in Mommy’s tummy (she’s been learning about babies)…. and I was talking mean ta Daddy an’ Penny an’ I’m sorry, Father God… fer’ breakin’ Mommy’s glasses…. Jesus Christ name amen.”
Griff and I were beside ourselves, red-faced with tear-streaked faces.

Coffee Lovers. Family. Loved ones. Supporters of our Soldiers. Americans.
Show some love to our troops & visit the link I’ve added (ok, um Salena added) to my sidebar. Its a great program that lets you donate a $4 bag of coffee (or more) to our troops stationed in the sandbox. Even better? They match your donation. Boca Java is a great dee-lish coffee (and you ALL know the junkie that I am). Now they have a goal to donate one million cups of coffee to our oh-so-deserving hard, hard working troops. I’d like to try & put a dent in that goal by making it easy for you to link to them & show some love. These guys deserve it, and more.
PS A HUGE super duper “Thanks!!!” to Salena for helping me with this! Much luv to ya, girlie!

At first, I found The Princess’s “work of art” to be amusing.

Then I came back from the kitchen, just a few moments gone, to find her trying so hard not to giggle, or she would have dropped her “mouth”.
She’s such the ham! (Just like her Papa Bear)

I have come to understand that there are many people in this world with whom I share something. And I’m okay with this. People like me keep the retail world going, so in my mind, we keep our American economy going. People like me are passionate shoppers (much to The Hub’s dismay). And suckers for advertising. I am a sucker for advertising.
If it fits my personality, I buy it.
If its on sale, I’ll definitely buy it.
If The Princess wants it, I’ll ssooo buy it.
Maybe its a personality “flaw”. Maybe its something “deeper & psychological” and all that jazz. Whatever. Most the time, when I realize I’m guilty, I think its funny.
Perfect example: I was out of coffee (THAT will never happen again), so I stopped at the neighborhood *Bucks, which is oh so conveniently all of three minutes away. I knew what bean I wanted, but of course, that was (the girl says) “a special seasonal bean”, (I hear “all gone..to be no more…ever”… ggrrrr). So I peruse their vast selection of beans. So many pretty, bright white glossy bags of dee-lish smelling beans. This is when I become suddenly overcome with that psychological personality flaw. I lay my eyes on this pretty label. Its pink cherry blossoms make me think “smooth”…. its creamy yellow background makes me think “spring sunshine” ( all the better for the retailers since its the dead cold of winter). I grab the one pound bag of beans & cannot wait to get home to brew it, and taste all that I’m imagining…
I’m such a sucker.
Its a darn good thing that this has now become my favorite coffee flavor…. for now… till another uncontrollable moment of psychological personality flaw (PPF) attacks.
